DUTIES

The Senior Job Design and Evaluation Consultant is a specialist in the areas of job analysis, design, and evaluation and oversees the university’s job evaluation processes and related projects.  This position provides subject matter expertise for both the Aiken Plan and Hay Methodology for all university non-academic positions. The incumbent works with other human resources professionals to design and implement appropriate organizational structures to meet changing university requirements as well as review, approve and implement any related job evaluation outcomes and recommend the corresponding position control changes. This position also researches, investigates and analyzes new and emerging trends and best practices in job design and evaluation and recommends updates to the application of existing methodologies to the Manager. Specifically, the successful applicant will be responsible for providing guidance and advice on any job design, analysis and evaluation issues to a variety of university stakeholders including Memorial’s leadership group, client departments and other members of the Human Resources team; ensuring internal equity across the university by overseeing the consistent application of standards and processes; completing job evaluation ratings for bargaining unit and management or professional positions; participating in position ratings for the senior administrative management group; researching best practices and developing recommendations on job evaluation policies, procedures and practices; researching, investigating and analyzing complex job evaluation issues; ensuring continuous quality improvement by monitoring and evaluating indicators and standards for the job evaluation process; managing the job evaluation appeals process; training and mentoring new and existing raters; and performing other related duties as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Progressive work experience (minimum five years) in human resources with at least two years of this experience in job analysis, job evaluation and/or job and organizational design, within large and complex organizations; completion of a graduate level degree in business or related field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. The incumbent will have strong interpersonal, analytical, facilitation, leadership, organizational, and communication skills (written and verbal), along with the ability to balance competing interests, initiate change, manage multiple tasks and positively engage the university community. 

 

SALARY                       $76,250 - $98,840 per annum (Management and Professional)
