DUTIES

Reporting to the Quality of Care NL/NL SUPPORT Communications Advisor, the Communications Coordinator will be an integral member of an interdisciplinary team focused on undertaking patient-oriented health research and evaluation, to support the reimagining of health and social care services for the population of Newfoundland and Labrador. Duties include supporting the development and implementation of knowledge translation tools (integrated and end of project); assisting in the execution/evaluation of traditional and digital marketing and communications strategies; supporting the maintenance and review of the Quality of Care NL and NL SUPPORT websites; enabling the dissemination of NL SUPPORT and Quality of Care NL patient-oriented research and evaluation outcomes to patients, clinicians, policy makers, and other stakeholders; demonstrating knowledge translation tools/techniques to staff and patient groups; assisting staff and researchers in the hands on development of knowledge translation tools; participating in national working groups regarding knowledge translation; assisting researchers and staff in the writing of knowledge translation strategies for inclusion in research, evaluation proposals, and grant applications; supporting the planning and delivery of NL SUPPORT and Quality of Care NL events; and performing other related duties as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (1.5 - 2 years) in knowledge translation or communication roles; completion of an Undergraduate degree with course work in health services research, health policy, life sciences; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Extensive understanding of and experience using communication tools such as social media and knowledge translation techniques; knowledge of the health and social care research field; an understanding of/ability to develop and manage collaborative relationships with health care providers, policy makers, and patients; and strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral skills are all requirements of this position. Experience with patient-oriented research would be considered an asset.

 

SALARY                                   $56,212 - $65,938 per annum (Non-Bargaining)
