ACADEMIC PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR (BAND LEVEL 6)

Distributed Medical Education

Faculty of Medicine

Position is located in Grand Falls-Windsor

(Contractual Position to June 10, 2025)

DUTIES

Reporting to the Coordinator of the Distributed Medical Education, (DME), the successful applicant will provide administrative support for the Physician Lead(s) in the region and will liaise with the Coordinator and Academic Program Administrators of DME, and administrative staff and departments in the Faculty of Medicine, the Newfoundland Health Services and communities in the region. Duties include coordinating the activities relevant to learner placements at the regional sites, maintaining schedules accordingly; ensuring the completion of evaluations for learner rotations, providing logistical support for learners and faculty during their Newfoundland Health Services experience; arranging orientation and IT training; working with the learner to coordinate housing arrangements; developing and maintaining a budget for the local office; coordinating site visits and accreditation visits; coordinating the logistics for faculty development initiatives in the region; arranging meetings, travel etc.; and performing other related duties as required. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Considerable experience (3-5 years) in program management and administrative support in an academic or hospital environment; completion of most courses equivalent to a degree in business administration, adult education or related area; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.   Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills as well as proficiency in MS Office (in particular Word and Excel) are required.   Familiarity with One45 would be considered an asset. 

 

SALARY                                   $56,212 - $65,938 per annum (CUPE Local 1615)
