RECRUITMENT CONSULTANT (BAND LEVEL 8)

DUTIES

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Human Resources professional to support the recruitment and hiring of our university’s leaders. Reporting to the Manager, Senior Leadership Recruitment, the Recruitment Consultant is an integral member of the senior leadership recruitment team supporting all steps of the recruitment process for executive, senior management, academic leadership and other related roles. This will include identifying strategies to source and develop connections with high potential candidates nationally and beyond. With a candidate centric approach, you will collaborate with the senior leadership recruitment team to support key aspects of the hiring process.

 

In collaboration with the team, the Recruitment Consultant will draft comprehensive position profiles, job advertisements and search committee materials; support the job posting process; conduct research; review candidate applications; assist with gathering survey feedback; and support candidate on-site visits as required. A primary role of the consultant will be to conduct proactive outreach and share available opportunities and information to potential candidates, while ensuring a focus on creating diverse candidate pools. They will assist in the assessment and implementation of research or sourcing methods, technology, tools, and strategies and will maintain tracking of proactive outreach communications.  Throughout this highly communicative role, the incumbent will be focused on the client experience and take pride in ensuring high quality candidate care. They will also foster a collegial culture grounded in respect and inclusion by delivering services that support the principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, anti-racism, and Indigenization. The Recruitment Consultant may attend meetings and provide updates to search committees as required and will perform other related duties as required.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (minimum 3 years) in human resource management activities with a focus on recruitment supplemented by a university degree with major coursework in human resource management; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. The successful incumbent requires excellent written communication skills with an ability to communicate clearly and consistently utilizing tact and diplomacy with a broad range of diverse contacts, including senior leaders; excellent research skills with an ability to professionally manage and deliver priorities while managing multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously; a strong client service mindset with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and sensitivity to confidential information that has legal and policy implications; a detail-oriented, process and systems focused mindset; experience in Microsoft Office suite. Experience in a post-secondary environment or working with stakeholders in a post-secondary environment is preferred. Additional relevant training in human resources, communications, project management, or research is an asset.   

 

 

SALARY                      $63,099 - $86,042 per annum (Management and Professional)
