DUTIES

The Experiential Learning Record Consultant, reporting to the Manager of Career and Professional Development provides overall leadership and management co-ordination for the Memorial Online Record of Experience (MORE). This includes full program operations, management, and strategic development on a multi-campus. Duties include ensuring accurate creation and updating of the co-curricular experiences inventory; managing various module operations to achieve strategic objectives, including   the certificate program tracking module; serving as the main point of contact for staff, faculty, and students on all campuses, as well as alumni; delivering training and support, as needed, across multiple campuses and academic/administrative environments; planning and leading multiple programs and initiatives related to the engagement of students in experiential learning, consistent with university priorities; strategically developing and leading the institutional curricular co-experiential learning (EL) inventory, and institutional analysis and reporting of co-curricular experiential learning; facilitating the experiential learning in student on-campus employment; serving as the primary cross-campus contact  on the software, processes, and criteria/validation of co-curricular experiential opportunities and certificates for Memorial’s Online Record of Experience; overseeing the continuous outreach and engagement across the St. John’s campus and between the other campus’ of Memorial University, to further the development of the Experience Catalogue by bringing new co-curricular offerings into the catalogue and encourage student engagement; and performing other related duties as required.  

 

This position requires a high level of autonomy and the ability to make decisions related to the exercise of independent judgement in determining programmatic decisions in a multi-campus context; and the application of university policy and responding to inquiries from university personnel and students. Advanced knowledge is required in planning and completing assignments, resolving conflicts, and executing work with others. 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (3-5 years) in experiential learning or project/program coordinator; completion of an Undergraduate degree in a related field (completion of a Master’s degree in post-secondary education, education, or a related field will be considered an asset)or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Knowledge of student development, career development, and experiential learning theory; and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and keyboard proficiency is required. Experience with reviewing/editing documents and developing/delivery training presentations, seminars, and group facilitation is preferred. The successful candidate will possess the following skills, good judgement, maturity, and diplomacy; excellent communication and interpersonal skills including writing skills and resource development; strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organizational skills; ability to work both independently and as part of a team; ability to interact professionally and build relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders; ability to assess needs, to encourage participation through persuasion and motivation, and to resolve differences in opinion. 

 

SALARY                                   $63,099 - $86,042 per annum (Management and Professional)
