Upcoming Wellness Sessions
Employee Wellness, Department of Human Resources, along with an expert facilitator from LifeWorks (formerly Morneau Shepell), is pleased to offer the following one-hour online wellness sessions between May and August 2021.

Mental Health Awareness
Date: May 5, 2021
Time: 10 a.m.
This session will help participants understand the impact of mental disorders on employees, comprehend the importance of support from the workplace, and develop strategies for helping those who are suffering from a mental disorder. Seminar participants will be encouraged to shatter myths and misconceptions about mental health and increase their understanding of the causes and symptoms of mental disorders.
Healthy Active Living
Date: May 26, 2021
Time: 10 a.m.
This session will discuss the benefits of being active as well as the risks of inactivity. Participants will learn about the components of fitness and activities, and the six stages of behaviour change toward a healthier lifestyle. At the end of this seminar, participants will be able to: discuss the barriers and challenges of becoming active; understand how to change their behaviour; know examples of activities; and know how to stay motivated.
Overcoming Burnout
Date: June 16, 2021
Time: 10 a.m.
This session will focus on the issue of burnout. Participants will learn to identify the symptoms and explore strategies for coping with and avoiding burnout.
Stress Reduction Toolkit
Date: July 7, 2021
Time: 10 a.m.
This session will discuss how to recognize the symptoms of stress. The newest research and what experts are saying about good and bad stress will be discussed. Participants will gain the tools to manage stress, including mindful communication. Topics covered in this session include: facts about stress; top stressors; how you know you’re stressed; good stress-bad stress; identifying triggers; knowing when others are stressed; mindful communication; and the key elements of stress.
Creating Balance in Your Life
Date: August 18, 2021
Time: 10 a.m.
This session will help participants explore how their current choices impact their work-life satisfaction and help them to develop strategies to achieve a greater balance in life.
