BACKGROUND
Memorial University is one of the largest universities in Atlantic Canada. As the province's only university, Memorial plays an integral role in the education and cultural life of Newfoundland and Labrador, offering diverse undergraduate and graduate programs to nearly 18,000 students.
The Memorial Centre for Entrepreneurship (MCE) at Memorial University is a joint initiative between the Faculties of Business Administration (FBA) and Engineering and Applied Science (FEAS) that serves students from any discipline at all Memorial campuses.
The mission of the MCE is to help every Memorial University student find and grow their inner entrepreneur. Its vision is to help Memorial University become the leading entrepreneurial university in Canada.

As the Program Coordinator, you will be at the heart of MCE's mission guiding students to chart their entrepreneurial journey, connecting them with the right programs, and helping them unlock their potential. DUTIES
Reporting to MCE's Programs Manager, the Program Coordinator plays a critical front-line role in identifying, recruiting, and guiding students through their entrepreneurial journey from first touchpoint through alumni support and engagement.
This position blends strong interpersonal and persuasive communication skills with structured program coordination, outcome tracking, and relationship management. The successful candidate will be comfortable selling the value of MCE's programs, building trust-based relationships with students, and maintaining long-term connections with MCE alumni and partners to strengthen the Centre's ecosystem and impact.
The role also supports the design and delivery of new programming, assists with major events (pitch competitions, showcases, and milestone celebrations), and contributes to an adaptable, intrapreneurial mindset to MCE's operations. Other relevant duties that may be required from time to time.
Key Responsibilities for the position are:
- Act as the primary point of contact and lead recruiter for student entrepreneurs eligible for MCE programs, proactively identifying and engaging high-potential founders across faculties.
- Lead the MCE's Student Ambassador team, actively recruiting high-potential Memorial student founders into MCE programs.
- Clearly articulate and "sell" the value proposition of MCE programs to students through one-on one conversations, presentations, campus outreach, and events.
- Engage non-Memorial students who may consider attending Memorial so as to benefit from MCE.
- Guide students in selecting the MCE programs that best align with their goals, venture stage, and growth objectives.
- Track student and alumni outcomes to support reporting, storytelling, and continuous improvement of MCE programs.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure a seamless student experience from recruitment through post-program engagement.
- Strengthen collaborations with other centres and initiatives within Memorial University and with key external ecosystem stakeholders.
- Support MCE's alumni success initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Along with completion of an undergraduate degree in Business, Education, or Entrepreneurship, the ideal candidate brings 1-3 years of experience in student engagement, recruitment, program coordination, outreach, or a related field. Experience engaging diverse student populations and building long-term relationships is considered essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, faculty, and partners (both internal and external); strong organizational and multitasking skills and attention to detail to manage event logistics and student communications; problem solving with an adaptable and intrapreneurial approach; ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment; and proficiency in Microsoft Suite and other relevant digital tools are requirements.
SALARY $57,336 - $67,257 per annum (Non-Bargaining)
