INTERMEDIATE SECRETARY (BAND LEVEL 4)

Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering

Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science

(Two-Year Contractual Position)

DUTIES

With minimum supervision, the Intermediate Secretary will perform secretarial duties for the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Head.  This position requires initiative and judgement and is part of the team providing administrative support for the department. Duties include typing letters, memoranda, and correspondence from dictating equipment and/or rough draft; providing administrative assistance for committees and budgets; taking and transcribing minutes of meetings; preparing agendas; scheduling meetings and providing necessary support; arranging travel; replying in person, by telephone, or via correspondence to enquiries; assessing and inputting information on Banner Student and/or Student Web; maintaining a computerized and manual filing system; and performing other related duties as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (1-3 years) in secretarial work; completion of a two-year program in office or business administration graduation is required; or an equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

 

SALARY                   $50,294 - $58,998 per annum (Non- Bargaining)
