DUTIES
The Science Technician III will perform technical work in support of research, learning, and operating activities in the Hibernia Enhanced Oil Recovery Laboratory. Duties include providing maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, testing, calibration, modification, and installation of equipment operating under high pressure and high temperature; ordering parts; updating preventative maintenance records; completing safety inspections and maintaining required records; collecting data throughout experiments; contributing to data processing and data quality assurance and control; contributing to technical reports and standard operating procedures; assisting with inventory management; demonstrating, supervising, and training students on laboratory equipment; and performing other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (1-3 years) in laboratory work; graduation from a two-year community college with a diploma in engineering technology is required; or an equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. The successful applicant will have knowledge of the operation and maintenance of laboratory; methods, materials and techniques used in laboratory work; and laboratory safety, including emergency first aid and WHMIS. Well-developed communication, organizational and basic computer skills are essential.
SALARY $53,729 - $63,029 per annum (Non-Bargaining)
