The Anthropology Aartyk (“Gateway”) Gallery is excited to showcase Dr. Kathy Gordon’s photo essay, Bolivian Marketplaces 2012-2015.
Everyone is invited to attend. The exhibition will run until Wednesday, April 9th.
About: Dr. Kathy Gordon is Associate Professor at the Department of Anthropology. She received her PhD in Anthropology from York University in 2002. Her research is focused on retail and wholesale marketplaces in highland Bolivia. She has conducted fieldwork in Bolivia 4 times – 1998/99, 2006, 2012/13, and 2015. The photos in the presentation are from the 2012/13 and 2015 field trips. She has published articles in a number of anthropology journals including Journal of the Royal Anthropological Institute, Anthropologica, and Anthropology of Work Review.
The Anthropology Aartyk (“Gateway”) Gallery is a space for sharing research through critical artistic explorations. We aim to spark dialogue about the value of human diversity and sociality through an anthropological lens, highlighting the rich, complex, and pluralistic modes of being in the world, and relating to one another.
