Tuition and Funding

Tuition for graduate students is among the lowest in Canada, for both Canadian and international students (for full details, please consult the School of Graduate Studies).

For example, the M.Sc. degree in Experimental Psychology is typically a 2 year program, with tuition of $3717 per year ($1239 per semester) for Canadians and permanent residents, and $4833 per year ($1611 per semester) for international students.

For the Ph.D. degree in Experimental Psychology, tuition is $3462 per year ($1154 per semester) for Canadians and permanent residents, and $4497 per year ($1499 per semester) for international students.

Graduate students in the Department of Psychology can be supported with funds from a variety of sources. Actual funding depends on a variety of factors; prospective students should check with their potential supervisor and the graduate officer for details.

Memorial University offers competitive funding packages to academically eligible full-time graduate students, both Canadian and international, in eligible programs. Select PhD students will also automatically be considered for the School of Graduate Studies Dean's Doctoral Award, through a competitive process. The award is an additional funding incentive amount of $5000 per year for up to four years, which is separate from additional Fellowships, TA's and supervisor grant stipends.
