Medical Students Society (MSS)
Memorial University’s Medical Students Society (MSS) is a student-run organization that has as its primary goal to represent students in all areas that affect them as a whole. The aim of the MSS is to enhance medical students’ well-being by ensuring their needs and concerns are considered, with the ultimate hope to add to their medical education as much as possible. All students registered in the MD program become members of the MSS.

Class Presidents
Each class president is responsible for their respective class’ interests with regards to the MSS. The class president is to ensure that activities carried out by the MSS serve their class in a positive manner, and it is their responsibility to lobby against any action the MSS takes that conflicts with their own class’ interests. It is also the responsibility of each class president to act as a liaison between the MSS executive and their respective class. Each class president has the same responsibility and voting capacity as any other ordinary member of the MSS Executive.
MSS Past President
The Immediate Past President is an unelected position given to an individual in the year immediately following the completion of their term as MSS President. In this capacity, the Past President primarily serves to ensure that the MSS Constitution is adhered to. The Past President also serves to advise and guide the proceedings and activities of the MSS as deemed appropriate. The Past President has the same responsibility and voting capacity as any other ordinary member of the MSS Executive.
