Gifts in Kind
The Memorial University Botanical Garden has received significant support over the years by gifts of property donated by alumni, friends, and corporations.
The Garden welcomes gifts of property that may include:
- Gardening tools, equipment, vehicles, watercraft, or machinery
- Building materials such as stone, lumber, carpentry tools, and other materials as needed
- Real property that aligns itself with the naturual boundaries of the Garden
The university requests a written letter of offer from a donor describing the item in detail. Once the gift offer is accepted, we will proceed with establishing the fair market value by seeking at least one independent appraisal for the gift. Gifts-in-kind are eligible for the same tax benefits and recognition as other gifts.
