Peak Performance: Powering the Next 50 Years
For 50 years, Memorial University’s School of Music has nurtured potential, fostered excellence, and brought people together through music.
From our first graduating class in 1976 to the hundreds of alumni making their mark across Canada and around the world, our story is one of vision, passion, and community.
Now, as we celebrate this milestone, we are launching the Peak Performance Fund to ensure that today’s students—and tomorrow’s—have the tools they need to thrive.
Why now?
The next generation of musicians is ready to push boundaries, create boldly, and lead in a rapidly evolving musical landscape.
To support them, we must build an environment that matches their aspirations, equipped with tools and technologies that inspire innovation, collaboration, and artistic excellence.
Your gift supports:
- Cutting edge technology and equipment — enabling recording, production, live performance, and creative exploration.
- Essential instrument upgrades — giving students access to the professional calibre instruments they need to grow.
- Performance and learning space enhancements — improving function, accessibility, and collaborative potential.
- Ergonomic rehearsal and studio furniture — supporting healthy music-making.
This is about more than equipment and facilities...
...it’s about what these tools make possible:
- Inspired performances
- Transformative learning experiences
- Groundbreaking creative work
- Deep collaboration
We’re not just upgrading gear — we’re investing in the conditions that help musicians unlock their potential.
Help shape the next 50 years of music at Memorial
Whether you’re a proud alumnus, a concertgoer, a parent, or someone who believes in the power of music, your support makes a difference.
Together, we can power the next generation of musicians.
Other Ways to Support Us
There are many ways to support the School of Music. Your gift can be tailored to reflect your passions and values. Here are a few areas where your contribution can make a lasting difference:
- Transformational Learning
Enrich students’ academic and artistic journeys by supporting guest artist and scholar residencies, student travel, and experiential learning opportunities. These experiences deepen knowledge, broaden horizons, and build essential skills for future careers. - Scholarships, Bursaries, and Awards
Empower the next generation by establishing scholarships, bursaries, or awards. These gifts—named in your honour or in memory of someone special—can support undergraduate or graduate students and be customized to reflect your vision for student success. - Area of Greatest Need
Unrestricted gifts provide the School with critical flexibility to respond to emerging priorities and pressing needs. If you have a particular passion or project in mind, we can help you direct your gift to that purpose. Larger gifts may also be used to establish an endowment fund—creating impact for decades to come.
