Faculty
We have a diverse complement of faculty members, occupying different kinds of appointments.
Core faculty members are those whose primary appointment is with the Division, and this includes those who have a joint appointment with another academic unit.
Cross-appointed faculty have a primary appointment with another academic unit at Memorial University. They are part of the Division’s academic family, have the right to vote on important Division issues and contribute actively to our education, research and service mandates.
Adjunct faculty are employed in academic or professional roles in organisations outside Memorial University. They are also part of our academic community, often joining graduate student supervisory committees and taking part in other collegial activities.
Part-time clinical faculty and professional associates have a contractual relationship with the Faculty of Medicine, to assist us in the delivery of our educational mandate.
Per course instructors are hired through a competitive process, as we need them, to teach entire courses when regular faculty are unavailable for any reason.
