Research Statement

My Masters research is focused on a sixteenth-century ceramic assemblage from Ferryland, NL. These ceramics once belonged to the migratory European fishers who came to Ferryland before the English settled in 1621. The primary goal of my research is to create a typology of the sixteenth-century ceramics found in Ferryland, and to determine their provenance. I hope that the study of these ceramics will also shed light on the provisioning of fishing crews in the sixteenth-century, and the daily lives of the migratory fishers.
