MA student Alexa Spiwak wins best graduate paper award at CNEHA 2018

Congratulations to MA student Alexa Spiwak who has won first place in the Graduate Student Paper Competition awarded by the Council for Northeast Historical Archaeology!

Alexa's research examines the small-scale slate tile industry at the 17th century English colony of Ferryland, Newfoundland in the context of Old World practices. Her paper, "A slator or two": Exploring the 17th - century slate industry at Ferryland" was presented at the 2018 CNEHA conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
