Master of Health Ethics

If you have an interest in ethical issues in health care settings, the Master of Health Ethics Program may be for you.
We offer an innovative Master’s degree in bioethics. Features of this degree program:
- A practicum in which students get involved in clinical ethics consultations, research ethics meetings, and ethics policy development
- A choice of final projects: students can conduct research on a thesis, work on a capstone project, or write 3 research papers on topics that interest them
- Scholarships for 2 students for each incoming class (with other funding often available through faculty research grants or other scholarships)
The program can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis. Students will develop skills needed to identify and analyze ethical issues in health care and life sciences settings and will gain a basic knowledge of the functioning of the health system. Faculty teaching in this program have a broad range of research interests, including research ethics, disability theory, the ethics of genetic research, and moral philosophy.

Our graduate students have used the Master of Health Ethics as a pathway to further graduate education, for admission to medical school, and have been successful in national scholarship competitions.
