Research Statement
My research aims to reconstruct past human-environment relationships in the traditional territory of the Mi’kmaq First Nations in Atlantic Canada over the past 2000 years. Using high-resolution stable isotope analysis of marine bivalves recovered from coastal shell midden deposits in the region, this research will address questions pertaining to seasonality and shellfish harvesting pressure to understand the histories of prehistoric coastal populations environmental interactions in Atlantic Canada.
