Research Statement

My research focuses on a 19th-century domestic assemblage recovered during previous excavations at Ferryland from a structure known as Feature 208. Through the use of primary documents and analysis of material culture I seek to develop a deeper understanding of 19th-century working class life at Ferryland as well as how Feature 208 and its inhabitants compare to the wider community of Ferryland across class and time period. Furthermore I hope to explore how this dataset compares to domestic life at other 19th-century sites elsewhere in North America and the British Isles.
