Study at Memorial
It takes a lot of courage to think about studying in a new country - truly, an explorer's mentality. At Memorial University you can share a unique educational experience with over 3,400 other international students from more than 100 countries around the world. Welcome to Canada, and welcome to Memorial!
Where we're located
A three hour flight east from Toronto or a five hour flight west from London, England, our St. John’s campus offers old-world hospitality in a modern, cosmopolitan city. Bordering on the Atlantic, you are 20 minutes from some of the most breathtaking ocean vistas imaginable; truly an inspiring place to broaden your mind.
Along with the main St. John's campus, we also have the Marine Institute and Signal Hill Campus, located in St. John's; Grenfell Campus, located in Corner Brook; and the Harlow Campus, located in Harlow, Essex, United Kingdom.
Admissions
Applying to Memorial is as easy by following our three steps to apply. For details on the documents and grades you will need, check our general admission requirements. English is the language of instruction at Memorial, so we do require proof of English proficiency. If you don't meet the English requirements, we offer an English as a second language program at the Grenfell Campus where you can improve your English abilities to reach a level necessary for general admission.
Memorial University works closely with select educational agents/consultants who are trained to support prospective students in their application for undergraduate studies. Students who wish to utilize the services of an agent are recommended to work with an authorized agent of Memorial University.
The following is a list of agents that have been vetted by Memorial and who are authorized undergraduate and English as a second language representatives for the 2022-2023 recruitment season:

Safety
We are all concerned about safety. Fortunately, Newfoundland boasts one of the lowest crime rates in North America. But to make you feel extra safe and secure we have our own patrol officers who keep an eye on things morning, noon and night, plus the SafeDrive program run by our students’ union, MUNSU. On top of that, we have a series of tunnels and skywalks (the MUNels) that connect many of our buildings keeping you safe (and dry) through all kinds of weather.
