OCSC-4000 Scientific Diving Methods 8 to 20 June 2015, St. John’s (NL)
Objectives:
• To develop the skills to properly plan and execute surveys and experiments with marine organisms in major subtidal habitats.
• To safely apply knowledge about the equipment and methods used for data collection in underwater scientific research;
Topics:
- Marine habitat mapping;
- Sampling of shallow marine fauna and flora;
- Installation and use of oceanographic instruments;
- Still and video camera techniques;
- Planning and execution of surveys and experiments
Prerequisites*: BIOL 2122 or BIOL 3709, BIOL 2600 or OCSC 2000, STAT 2550 or equivalent
