FUSION
The Future Skills Innovation Network (FUSION) is a national, cross-collaborative network of Canadian universities focused on exploring inclusive and innovative learning approaches that foster skill development and prepare students for success during and beyond their postsecondary education. FUSION orients itself around a common set of challenges faced by universities.
- Developing skills essential for student success in the twenty-first-century labor market;
- Improving postsecondary outcomes for students from equity-deserving groups;
- Creating more flexible, inclusive, and equitable formats for accessing learning.
The program consists of eight Future Skills modules: Adaptability, AI Literacy, Collaboration, Communication, Inclusivity, Metacognition, Problem-Solving, and Self-Management. Each module takes appropriately four hours to complete and is designed to accompany an existing learning experience—whether it be an academic course, co-op placement, or volunteer work. Each module has also been designed to stand on its own, so while you may find yourself interested in three or four but are concerned about time constraints, please rest assured that you can still benefit from completing just a single module!
