Civil engineering is a broad field encompassing several distinct areas of specialization. It is also the oldest of the engineering professions. Civil engineers work in all levels of government and for a wide variety of industries involved in the design, planning, managing and construction of highways, airports, harbours, dams, buildings, pollution control and so much more.
Civil engineering at Memorial
Memorial’s civil engineering program is unique for students hoping to work in the field of offshore oil and gas development due to the university’s proximity to the ocean. The civil engineering program at Memorial is co-operative education-based and offers well-balanced, diversified courses across a wide range of engineering specialties such as structural; construction; geotechnical; water resources; environmental; transportation; and offshore, coastal and ocean.
Admission requirements
To apply for admission into the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, indicate bachelor of engineering in the appropriate place on the undergraduate application for admission. In addition to meeting the general admission requirements, you will also need to meet the admission requirements set out by the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science.
