To be eligible for a Canadian student loan you must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada or designated as a protected person.
Newfoundland and Labrador Tuition Relief Grant Program
The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has created a needs-based Tuition Relief Grant Program to offer a maximum of $3,450 per academic year to eligible students. Eligibility for the Tuition Relief Grant will be based on the existing student aid program. The funding will be available to residents who:
- have graduated from a high school in Newfoundland and Labrador;
- have enrolled in full-time studies at Memorial University in a bachelor level-degree program; and
- who qualify for need under the provincial student aid program.
