General admission requirements

Credential

Cameroon General Certificate of Education (Cameroon GCE)

Required subject areas

  1. English
  2. Mathematics*
  3. Laboratory Science* (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
  4. Social Studies or Modern/Classical Language*
  5. Elective

*Students who are missing an eligible course in one of subject groups 2, 3 or 4, who apply for admission to a program that does not require completion of these courses, will be considered for general admission. In this case, an eligible course in subject groups 1, 2, 3 or 4 may be used to substitute the missing course. Students who are missing eligible courses in two subject areas should contact admissions@mun.ca.

 

General admission criteria

Grade requirement
  • Completion of the Cameroon General Certificate of Education (Cameroon GCE) with a minimum grade of B in the required subject areas at the O level and at least three Advanced (“A”) Level subjects with a minimum grade of C.
English language proficiency
Competitive program entry (if applicable)
  • Admission to some programs is competitive for a limited number of spaces. A higher admission average and/or supplementary information may be required as part of the faculty-specific admissions.

Additional notes

Completion of A level subject examinations with minimum scores may qualify accepted applicants for course-based transfer credit. Refer to our transfer credit process for further details.

If you have not yet completed A Levels

When you apply (early acceptance)
  • If A level results are not yet available, a provisional decision may be possible using the final, official O level certificate and Predicted Grades for the A levels or the Provisional Results Slip of the A levels.
  • Official English proficiency test result.
  • Supplementary information required for competitive-entry programs may be required with your application.
When you complete your examinations (verified acceptance)
  • Official final examination results, sent to admiss.docs@mun.ca directly from an official email address listed on the website of the issuing authority. Alternatively, the official results may be sent by post or courier from the issuing authority to the Office of the Registrar.
