General admission application deadlines

1. The application for admission will be available as of 5 p.m. Newfoundland Time on the date indicated.
2. This is the recommended deadline for submission of the general admission application. Applications received after this date will be processed as time and resources permit. Competitive-entry programs may have different deadlines as outlined in the faculty/school program deadlines section below.
3. The general admission application closes for applicants who are required to submit supporting documentation. Applicants who are not required to submit any supporting documentation can apply until the first day of that semester.  
4. Deadline to submit official documents for all general admission programs. See specific faculty/school program deadlines listed below. Any evaluation for transfer credit will not begin until official transcripts are received.

Early application is always encouraged as it will give you the appropriate time to have an admission decision, receive academic advice, assess possible transfer credits, and register for courses.

High school students applying for the fall semester must apply by March 1 to be considered for early entrance scholarships.

International application deadlines

International applicants are advised to apply at least 12 weeks before the start of their intended semester due to the time required to apply, processing of their application for admission and applying for a visa/study permit. Check with the Government of Canada website to determine current study permit processing times.

After registration has begun

Once registration for a semester has started, course availability may become limited. Acceptance to Memorial does not guarantee the availability of desired or required courses. If you wish to apply after registration has started, you are encouraged to contact the Office of the Registrar before you apply to confirm course availability and to confirm that you can complete the admission process in time to begin the semester.

Application deferrals

If you’re not planning to attend or need to request an application deferral, please drop any registered courses and email the Admissions Office.

Faculty/school program deadlines

Although most deadlines for competitive entry programs are strictly followed, an application deadline may be extended if a program is not yet full. Applications received after the deadline will automatically be changed to a general admission program, such as the bachelor of science, or an unspecified program.

Programs not listed below are general admission programs and will follow the priority deadlines, as noted above.
