Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the M.Sc. Marine Biology program, applicants typically hold a B.Sc. (Honours) degree in biology (or equivalent) with at least high second-class standing. While not mandatory, applicants are encouraged to complete the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test and/or the Biology subject test.
Additional Admission Criteria
Admission to the Marine Biology graduate program also requires:
- Faculty Supervision: A faculty member from the Department of Ocean Sciences must agree to supervise the applicant. Applicants should proactively contact potential supervisors to arrange for mentorship and discuss research opportunities.
- Funding: Adequate funding must be secured to support both personal and research-related expenses. The Ocean Sciences Graduate Studies Committee establishes the minimum level of personal support.
