If you are interested in any of the opportunities displayed here, please first note the associated deadline. Be prepared to plan ahead - most deadlines are in March, April & May. If you intend to apply for a partner summer school, first complete the Memorial Summer School Form to notify us. If a partner school requires official nomination by Memorial before you can apply, it is important to indicate this on the form.

Discover how data and artificial intelligence are transforming the future of public policy during the Summer School “AI-Driven Data Analytics for Policy-Analysis”, hosted by Hasselt University. Bachelor European Summer Program 2026
The Business, Political and Cultural Environment in Europe
May 24 to June 12, 2026

We are excited to announce the dates for the Bachelor European Summer Program 2026.

The program will take place at their campus in Vallendar, located just outside of Koblenz in the UNESCO World Heritage Site Upper Middle Rhine Valley, one hour away from Frankfurt! It will be a great combination of class meetings, group work, company visits and cultural experience.

Highlights:
The program will feature visits to German companies and the unique historical sites in the area. It offers a rich diversity of academic and intercultural activities, thus providing students with a dynamic and interactive program.

As the farewell event will take place in the evening of the last day (June 12), we recommend scheduling departure for the following morning. WHU will provide a shuttle to the airport on the morning of June 13. Please find all important program details below.

Greetings from the International Summer School at University of Galway! 

We are delighted to update you on the International Summer School programme of courses for summer 2026 . Below summarises the key details of those courses - click the summer school title link for more detailed course information on our website and to view student videos illustrating their unforgettable summer school experiences with us. 

Irish Studies  

Arrival: Sunday 14 June 2026 

Orientation, introductory classes, and campus tours: Monday 15 June 2026  

Closing of summer school: Friday 10 July 2026  

Departure: Saturday 11 July 2026 

Course curriculum: students select two courses from the courses on offer. The curriculum includes outline of lecture topics, reading lists and assessment requirements. Each course is worth 3 Semester Credits/6 ECTS Credits. Courses delivered each year depend on demand. 

Field trips for student enrolled on specific courses:  

1. Literature and Film & Creative Writing: Visit to Literary and Historical Sites in Co. Clare & South Galway  

2. Archaeology:  2 fieldtrips to the Burren (in Historic Period)  

3. History: Debate off-campus in historic venue 

4. Creative Writing:  Participation in Galway Literary Events  

5. Gaelic Literature & Culture:  Cultural trip to museum in Galway  

6. Irish Society: Cultural walking tour of Galway City Centre  

7. Economic Policy: Trip to Dublin to meet key policy advisors and analysts  

8. Art in Ireland: Trip to Dublin to National Museum and Book of Kells. 

9. Irish Music and Dance: immersed in music and dance of Ireland. 

Additional Classes:  Irish Language Classes, Sean Nós Dancing, Sean Nós Singing, Traditional Music Showcase.  

Excursions (tbc): Day trip to Aran Islands & Cliffs of Moher, Day trip to Kylemore Abbey and Aughnanure Castle, Day trip to Irish Workhouse & Caherconnell Stone Fort

Ecology Living Landscapes in the West of Ireland 

Arrival: Sunday 14 June 2026  

Orientation, introductory classes, and campus tours: Monday 15 June 2026  

Closing of summer school: Friday 03 July 2026 

Departure: Saturday 04 July 2026   

Entry Requirements: Undergraduate students should have completed at least one full year at university or college level before being admitted to the programme and are undertaking any Ecology, Environmental Science, Geography, Botany, Zoology, Natural History or Natural Heritage course. Students should also have attained a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent). Postgraduate students with an interest in the subject area are also welcome to apply. They will have an extra assignment to complete to obtain the course credits. Students should have a reasonable level of fitness and be prepared for field trips most days on the course. This may involve short hikes over trails and uneven surfaces.  

Curriculum:   focusing on the Ecology of the Living Landscapes of the West of Ireland. The course is worth 10 ECTS Credits/5 US Credits.  

Fieldtrips (tbc):  each week students undertake field trips (i.e., 2-3 days, per week), which facilitate contact with the Irish countryside, habitats, flora, fauna, and Irish conservation practitioners.  

Assessment:   course is assessed in the form of oral presentations and learning journals.  The course is highly practical and provides an opportunity for students to develop hands-on fieldwork skills.  

Social events: Opening reception, Independence Day Barbecue, and Farewell Reception.  

Tuition Cost:   €3,155.00  

Accommodation Cost:   €1,000.00 for duration 20 nights in Student Residence | Goldcrest Village (campusaccommodation.ie) - self-catering, single room with ensuite.

Business and International Management

Curriculum:  Specialist courses in Economic Policy in Ireland and International Cross-cultural management, providing students with a multidisciplinary approach to studying business and developing the skills to work within an international business setting. Each course is worth 3 Semester Credits/6 ECTS Credits per course.  

Field Trip: to Dublin to meet key policy advisors and analysts.  

Social events: Opening reception, Independence Day Barbecue and Farewell Reception.   

Tuition Cost:   €2,445.00 

Accommodation Cost:    €1,350.00 for duration 27 nights in Student Residence | Goldcrest Village (campusaccommodation.ie) - self-catering, single room with ensuite.
