Organization Description: The St. John's Farmers' Market operates a community market every Saturday year-round, seasonal Sundays, and hosts the Humpday Market on Wednesday evenings. We provide opportunities and exposure for small local farmers, artisans, chefs, and bakers and have created a space where the community can gather and explore traditional food and crafts, while discovering new things they may have never considered before.
Volunteer Activities/Duties:
- Greeting customers and visitors
- Supporting vendors with breaks
- Providing general information about the Market and vendors
- Sales of Market merchandise
- Helping to keep the Market tidy
- Helping with activities or events during Market Day
Commitment: Volunteers may opt for full-day (7 hours) or half day (3.5 hours) shifts on Market days. Markets run on Saturdays, summer Sundays and Wednesday evenings.
Orientation and Training: All volunteers will receive an orientation and ongoing support by the Volunteer Coordinator.
Other Requirements: All market volunteers must be reliable, responsible, trustworthy, and willing to interact with people in a friendly, inclusive, and multicultural environments. Volunteers must be willing to follow our Code of Conduct policy and sign a Covid-19 safety agreement.
