Organization Description: The Friends of MUN Botanical Garden (FOG) volunteer their time and skills in support of the goals of the Garden. We are a registered charity and a separately incorporated entity from the Garden.
Volunteer Activities/Duties: FOG volunteers assist with a variety of activities and events, including welcoming visitors, leading tours, providing directions in the Garden, event photography, etc. Our Trail Patrol group regularly walks the Garden's trial system to monitor for any damage or concerns, as well as to direct and answer questions of visitors. Carpentry and Horicultural Groups meet weekly to work on projects. Volunteers are also called upon to assist with semi-annual plant sales, spring clean-up of the Garden, and with the seasonal light show Merry & Bright.
Commitment: All FOG volunteers commit to completing a minimum of 15 hours of volunteer service during out membership year (April 1-March 31).
Other Requirements: Age requirement of 16 and older, informal interview.
