CNIB
Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) works with people who have vision loss to offer social and recreational activities. Volunteers are needed to offer these activities and there are a number of opportunities available for volunteers.
Volunteer Activities/Duties:
- Vision Mate - working with one person who has vision loss for two hours weekly doing social and recreational activities,
- Virtual Program Lead - helping host virtual programs being offered on a monthly bases.
- Kelly at CNIB would be happy to speak with any interested volunteers about more opportunities available.
Commitment: We ask that volunteers stay with their volunteer position for 6 months but if there is any issue and they aren't able to stay that long, they can certainly let Kelly Picco know.
Orientation and Training: There is a short conversation on the phone and then an orientation/training at CNIB.
Other Requirements: References, criminal record and vulnerable sector check will be conducted through Sterling Back Check.
