Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) works with people who have vision loss to offer social and recreational activities. Volunteers are needed to offer these activities and there are a number of opportunities available for volunteers.

Volunteer Activities/Duties: 

• Vision Mate - working with one person who has vision loss for two hours weekly doing social and recreational activities,
• Virtual Program Lead - helping host virtual programs being offered on a monthly bases.
• Kelly at CNIB would be happy to speak with any interested volunteers about more opportunities available.

Commitment: We ask that volunteers stay with their volunteer position for 6 months but if there is any issue and they aren't able to stay that long, they can certainly let Kelly Picco know.

Orientation and Training: There is a short conversation on the phone and then an orientation/training at CNIB.

Other Requirements: References, criminal record and vulnerable sector check will be conducted through Sterling Back Check.
