How to Get Involved:
The Association for New Canadians (ANC) is a non-profit, community-based organization delivering settlement and integration services to immigrants and refugees in Newfoundland and Labrador. For more than 40 years, the Association has provided a comprehensive range of programs to support all aspects of immigrant integration, including settlement information, orientation, language learning, skills development, and employment.

Organization Description: Provide services to newcomers to integrate into the Canadian Community.
Volunteer Activities/Duties:
- Family & Tutor Match: Volunteers engage in friendship-based ESL learning or tutoring for youth.
- After School Programs: Volunteers assist immigrant students with homework, group activities, and event setup.
- Breakfast Program: Volunteers help set up, prepare, and serve meals, creating a welcoming environment.
- ESL Conversation Circle Program: Volunteers facilitate discussions, assist with vocabulary and pronunciation, and foster a relaxed space for language practice.
Commitment:
- Family & Tutor Match: Flexible, based on availability.
- After School Programs: Weekly during school hours.
- Breakfast Program: Twice weekly, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:30 to 10:30 AM.
- ESL Conversation Circle Program: Multiple sessions weekly, including a virtual Wednesday evening option.
Registration: Complete the Volunteer Application Form, sign the Confidentiality Agreement, complete RNC and Vulnerable Sector checks, and attend a Volunteer Orientation. Volunteers receive weekly updates with programming details and sign-up links.
