General admission requirements
Credential
Advanced Level National Examination (A2) or Certificat du Cycle Supérieur de l'Enseignement Secondaire
Required subject areas
- English
- Mathematics*
- Laboratory Science* (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
- Social Studies or Modern/Classical Language*
- Elective
*Students who are missing an eligible course in one of subject groups 2, 3 or 4, who apply for admission to a program that does not require completion of these courses, will be considered for general admission. In this case, an eligible course in subject groups 1, 2, 3 or 4 may be used to substitute the missing course. Students who are missing eligible courses in two subject areas should contact admissions@mun.ca.
General admission criteria
Grade requirement
- Minimum average of 7.5 (out of 11) or 70 (out of 100) in the required subject areas, with a passing grade in each subject.
English language proficiency
- Proof of English language proficiency is required through a standardized test.
Competitive program entry (if applicable)
- Admission to some programs is competitive for a limited number of spaces. A higher admission average and/or supplementary information may be required as part of the faculty-specific admissions.

If you are currently in high school
When you apply (early acceptance)
- Current interim high school transcript. This transcript can be official or unofficial.
- Official English proficiency test result.
- Supplementary information required for competitive-entry programs may be required with your application.
When you complete your examinations (verified acceptance)
- Official final examination results. These should sent by post or courier to the Office of the Registrar directly from the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education or sent by you in an envelope that has been officially sealed by the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education.
If you have completed high school and not attended a post-secondary institution
- Official final examination results. These should sent by post or courier to the Office of the Registrar directly from the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education or sent by you in an envelope that has been officially sealed by the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education.
- Official English proficiency test result.
- Supplementary information required for competitive-entry programs may be required with your application.
If you have attended a post-secondary institution
- You are required to apply as a transfer student. In addition to the information provided above, please refer to our university or college transfer applicant requirements.
