General admission requirements
Credential
Certificado Oficial de Estudios de Educación Secundaria (Official Certificate of Studies of Secondary Education) or Certificado de Educación Secundaria Común Completa (Certificate of Regular Complete Secondary Education) and completion of at least one year of study at a recognized Junior College, College or University.
Exceptional candidates may be considered for general admission on the basis of the Certificado.

1Students who are missing an eligible course in one of subject groups 2, 3 or 4, who apply for admission to a program that does not require completion of these courses, will be considered for general admission. In this case, an eligible course in subject groups 1, 2, 3 or 4 may be used to substitute the missing course. Students who are missing eligible courses in two subject areas should contact admissions@mun.ca.
2Combined Science is not acceptable to meet the laboratory science requirement.
General admission criteria
Grade requirement
- Exceptional Certificado students with a minimum grade of 14 on the 20-point scale or 90 on the 100-point scale in each of the required subject areas may be considered for general admission.
- Students who complete at least one year of study at a recognized Junior College, College or University must be in clear academic standing (equivalent to a minimum of 2.0 on a 4.0-point GPA scale).
English language proficiency
- Proof of English language proficiency is required through a standardized test.
Competitive program entry (if applicable)
- Admission to some programs is competitive for a limited number of spaces. A higher admission average and/or supplementary information may be required as part of the faculty-specific admissions.

When you apply (early acceptance)
- Current interim transcript and English translation (if applicable). These can be uploaded to the admissions portal or sent by email.
- Official English proficiency test result.
- Supplementary information for competitive-entry programs may be required with your application.
When you complete your examinations (verified acceptance)
- Official final certificate/transcript (including grades) and certified English translation (if applicable), sent by post or courier to the Office of the Registrar.
If you have completed high school
- Official final certificate/transcript (including grades) and certified English translation (if applicable), sent by post or courier to the Office of the Registrar.
- Official English proficiency test result.
- Supplementary information required for competitive-entry programs may be required with your application.
If you have attended a post-secondary institution
- You are required to apply as a transfer student. In addition to the information provided above, please refer to our university or college transfer applicant requirements.
