Faculty
The Department of Religious Studies has a diverse and varied research profile. Most of our faculty have won external funding from granting agencies and currently receives over $4,000,000 in extended research support. All faculty have peer-reviewed publications and most faculty have published books in university presses on such diverse subjects as Daoism (Rainey), gender politics and Islam (Selby), and ritual studies (Stephenson). Some professors (now retired) have received university research awards (Rollmann, Bell), and one is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (Bell).
Faculty supervise our graduate students, are members of professional organizations and university committees, participate in public events and are committed to the overall strength of the Department of Religious Studies at Memorial University.
