Description

Study of how children develop the phonology of the first language(s) they are acquiring. In approaching this topic, I consider both phonological (grammatical) factors such as segmental and prosodic representations and constraints on these representations as well as non-phonological factors such as physiological and motor limitations inherent to children’s vocal tract shape and motor control.
