- Adjunct Professor (2021-2024)
- BA, MA, (Linguistics) Memorial
- PhD, (Linguistics & Cognitive Systems) University of British Columbia
Research Interests
- Perceptuo-Motor linkages
Links between motor control and perception, specifically forward models (predictive mechanisms of the motor system) and how they influence perception, particularly of speech. - Inner speech
The neural mechanisms that generate the auditory experience we have when we talk to ourselves internally, and how these mechanisms overlap with those of external speech perception.
-
Multisensory integration
How speech perception relies on a combination of auditory, visual, tactile and kinaesthetic sources of information.
-
Sensory learning
How perceptual systems adjust to new information and how we use context to determine the reliability of new information for sensory learning.
