Research:
- In 2020, the World University Service of Canada (WUSC) chapter at MUN hosted Global Refugee Narratives 2020, a symposium aimed at facilitating conversations and tangible solutions to the global refugee discourse through bringing former refugees’ voices to the forefront.
Public Engagement:
- In 2019, Dr. Paul Hart, a MUN medicine alumnus, volunteered at the Moria Refugee Camp in Lesbos, Greece. His goal was to provide medical care for the more than 13,000 refugees living in deplorable conditions in what has been called the world’s worst refugee camp.
Administration:
- MUN has a local chapter of the World University Services of Canada (WUSC), a non-profit organization dedicated to improving education and employment opportunities for youth. WUSC has a program intended to support refugees during and after their post-secondary education called the Student Refugee Program (SRP).
