DATE: November 5, 2018
A feminist scholar and director of the Ariadne Institute for the Study of Myth and Ritual will participate in two events at Memorial University this week.

On Saturday, Nov. 10, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Dr. Christ will participate in a round table discussion titled Walking and Healing: A Conversation on Feminism, Spirituality and Land at the North Bank Lodge in Pippy Park.
Joining her will be local scholars Dr. Patricia Dold and Dr. Cythia Egan-Kiigemagi; local activist and master of gender studies student Gemma Hickey; and local feminist spiritual leader Kelly Hickey.
Both events are free and open to the public.
The Department of Religious Studies is delighted to host Dr. Christ, whose pioneering article, "Why Women Need the Goddess" and eight books have been, for many in the discipline, a gateway to new fields of study in women and religion and alternative feminist spirituality.
