SUBJECT: Official Opening of Memorial University's Signal Hill Campus

Dr. Gary Kachanoski, president and vice-chancellor, Memorial University of Newfoundland, will host the official opening of Memorial’s new Signal Hill Campus on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 11 a.m.
Dr. Kachanoski will be joined by Seamus O'Regan, minister of Veterans Affairs, associate minister of National Defence and Member of Parliament for St. John's South–Mount Pearl; Dwight Ball, premier of Newfoundland and Labrador; and Scott Balfour, president and CEO of Emera Inc.; with special guests, alumni, senior university officials, faculty, donors and members of the public to mark this occasion.
Later the same day, Memorial University is welcoming members of the public to attend a family-friendly open house at Signal Hill Campus, from 2-5 p.m.
The open house will include an art unveiling with live music, self-guided tours through the Emera Innovation Exchange, plenty of hands-on exhibits, and even some celebratory ice cream.
There will also be a salute to the late entrepreneur and community philanthropist Paul J. Johnson, taking place at 2 p.m. An art unveiling in partnership with Business and the Arts, Newfoundland and Labrador, will happen at 3 p.m.
Where: The Emera Innovation Exchange, Signal Hill Campus, Memorial University, 100 Signal Hill Rd.
When: Opening Event: Saturday, Sept. 29, 11 a.m. Open House: Saturday, Sept. 29, 2 p.m.
