SUBJECT: Faculty of Education to launch innovative STEM program

Memorial’s Faculty of Education, in partnership with Hibernia Management and Development Company Ltd. (HMDC), will officially launch the bachelor of education STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) degree program on Thursday, Dec. 13.
The event will take place in the Teaching and Commons room, ED-5006, on the St. John’s campus, at 3 p.m.
After the launch, there will be an opportunity to meet education students in their first semester of the STEM program and learn about their experiences.
Dr. Mary Stordy, associate professor, Faculty of Education, who led the research team that designed the program, will be joined by Scott Sandlin, president, HMDC; Stephanie Collins, assistant principal, Morris Academy; and representatives from HMDC, Memorial University, the STEM program's working group and advisory committee and participating schools.
