DATE: February 7, 2018
Note to editors:
On Thursday, Feb. 8, the Marine Institute’s Centre for Aquaculture and Seafood Development (CASD) is inviting members of the media to an industry showcase where The BAADER Group will demonstrate its advanced heading, filleting and skinning equipment for the processing of whitefish.
The machinery processes whitefish in a new manner to improve yield, hygiene, performance and fillet quality.
CASD invited The BAADER Group, a world-renowned manufacturer and supplier of advanced high quality food processing machinery, to temporarily install its equipment in the Marine Institute’s food pilot plant.
This week, more than 100 industry representatives, including processors, industry associations and government officials from across Atlantic Canada, have taken part in demonstrations, signaling that interest in the technology is high at a time when the local seafood industry is preparing for the possible return of a groundfish fishery.
The demonstration will take place 1:30-4:30 p.m. in the Marine Institute’s food pilot plant.
