SUBJECT: PSA: Public lecture on international HyperLoop design project

The Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at Memorial University will host a public lecture on Wednesday, March 30, about an advanced form of transportation called HyperLoop.

Computer science student Andrew Way and mechanical engineering student Adam Keating will present about their work on a multidisciplinary multi-university team of engineering, physics and computer science students. They are working with students from five other universities, including Princeton and Cornell, on a global design competition. The team, OpenLoop, is developing an advanced form of transportation called “HyperLoop.”

This Speaking of Engineering lecture series, hosted by the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at Memorial University and the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador, will be held on Wednesday, March 30, at 7:30 p.m., in the engineering building’s Angus Bruneau Engineering Lecture Theatre, room EN-2006, on Memorial’s St. John’s campus. Admission is free. Parking is available in lot 22. All are welcome. Reception will follow.
