SUBJECT: PSA: The George Story Lecture From Adams Housecat to Zydeco The Vitality of American Regional English

Joan Hall, chief editor of the Dictionary of American Regional English, will deliver the George Story Lecture at Memorial University on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 7:30 p.m.
The free lecture will take place in the Bruneau Centres Innovation Theatre, IIC-2001. All are welcome and free parking is available in lot 15B.
The late Dr. George Story (1927-1994) was one of Newfoundlands most distinguished scholars and teachers, whose scholarship ranged from Erasmus and Lancelot Andrewes, to Christmas mummering in Newfoundland to the lexicography that resulted in the Dictionary of Newfoundland English.
To commemorate and honour Dr. Storys contribution to research and scholarship, Memorial University endowed an annual George H. Story Lecture in Humanities, which reflects the range and variety of Dr. Storys intellectual interests.
