SUBJECT: PSA: Henrietta Harvey lecture at Memorials St. Johns campus

Dr. Sandra Whitworth, a political science professor at York University, will deliver the Henrietta Harvey lecture at Memorial University on Wednesday,
Oct. 3.
Named the Eminent Feminist Scholar of 2012 by the feminist theory and gender studies section of the International Studies Association, Dr. Whitworth will discuss Gender, Armed Conflict and Global Violence: The Post 9/11 Decade. In her talk she will examine differences between state- and UN-based politics since Sept. 11, 2001.
Dr. Whitworths lecture takes place in the S.J. Carew (Engineering) buildings Bruneau Lecture Theatre and begins at 7 p.m. All are welcome and free parking is available in area 16. A reception will follow the lecture.
