SUBJECT: 16th anniversary of unveiling of Merchant Navy Memorial

Note to editors:
The Canadian Merchant Navy Veterans Association will commemorate the 16th anniversary of the unveiling of the Merchant Navy Memorial on Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 10 a.m. at the Merchant Navy Memorial outside the Marine Institute on Ridge Road.
Relatives and families of veterans, the public and media are welcome to attend.
To commemorate the dedication of this memorial and Merchant Navy Veterans Day (held annually on Sept. 3), Aug. 28 was chosen to hold this memorial ceremony and service.
The short program will consist of a civil and religious ceremony.
In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held inside the Marine Institute.
