SUBJECT: White Coat Ceremony taking place at School of Pharmacy

A special ceremony will take place at Memorial Universitys School of Pharmacy on Thursday, Jan. 19. During the annual White Coat Ceremony, 40 pharmacy students in the Class of 2015 will be robed in the white coat worn by practitioners of the profession.
The forty students will also recite and sign the Pledge of Professionalism and be welcomed into the profession of pharmacy.
Members of the media are invited to attend. The ceremony will take place from 5-6:30 p.m. in the main auditorium, Health Sciences Centre, on Memorial Universitys St. Johns campus.
Guests will include dignitaries, members of the pharmacy profession, family and friends, students, faculty and staff.
In attendance will be Susan Sullivan, minister of the Department of Health and Community Services, Dr. David Wardlaw, provost and vice-president (academic), Memorial University; Don Rowe, secretary-registrar, Newfoundland and Labrador Pharmacy Board; Debbie Kelly, president, Newfoundland and Labrador Pharmacy Board; Sandra Carey, president, Pharmacists Association of Newfoundland and Labrador; and Dr. Linda Hensman, dean, School of Pharmacy, Memorial University.
A reception will follow the ceremony.
