Memorial University’s Alumni Association will once again celebrate the achievements of some of its most accomplished members at the 29th Annual Alumni Tribute Awards this month.
Dr. Max House is one of four of this year’s honourees. A graduate of Memorial University College in 1947, Dr. House will receive the Alumnus of the Year Award. In addition to his many roles within the medical community,
Dr. House served as the 10th lieutenant-governor of Newfoundland and Labrador from 1997-2002.
Environmental advocate Leonard Vassallo is the recipient of the Outstanding Community Service Award, diabetes specialist Vanessa Donnelly is this year’s Horizon Award recipient and barrister and solicitor Gary Peddle will receive the J.D. Eaton Alumni Award.
The 29th Annual Alumni Tribute Awards will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 18 at the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland in St. John’s.
