SUBJECT: Official announcement of the Suncor Energy Offshore Research and Development Centre at Memorial University

DATE: February 25, 2011

Media representatives are invited to attend the official announcement of the Suncor Energy Offshore Research and Development Centre on Monday, Feb. 28.
            Participants include Dr. Gary Kachanoski, president, Memorial University; Alan Brown, vice-president, East Coast Canada, Suncor Energy; Glenn Janes, chief executive officer, Research & Development Corporation of Newfoundland and Labrador; and Dr. John Quaicoe, dean (pro tempore), Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at Memorial.
            The event will take place at 1 p.m., in the cafeteria (room EN-2004A) of the S.J. Carew (Engineering) Building, 240 Prince Phillip Drive, St. John’s Campus, Memorial University.
            A reception will follow.
            Parking for media is available underneath the Alexander Murray (Earth Sciences) Building (Lot 61).
